It's a Beautiful Night

Last night was something else. Jerry's band, Spark-n-Cinder played from 8:00 to 12:00 last night at LaSalles, a downtown bar. After the holiday gigs are always special because the college kids are out of town and a menagerie of local folks come out of the woodwork to party down. Last night was no exception. The average age of the crowd was probably about 45 or 50, all of us aging hippees with our dancing shoes on. People danced all night--well to midnight anyway, with smiles on their faces and hearts wide open. At one point during the night I was just dancing there in the middle of the crowd with tears pouring down my face, just feeling the love for everyone, knowing how blessed I am to be alive in the midst of my community. We are a bunch of awesome and fortunate folk. Can't wait until New Years to do this all over again with twice as many people.
